A cartoon of a fat disabled woman age 65. She is lying on her bed doing very gentle pilates with a pilates ball. She is wearing blue leggings and a purple stripy top. She is resting her legs on a large orange ball and her head on an orange cushion. She is smiling and resting her hands on her tummy.
Before I started Bed Pilates I felt demoralised, failure, and angry because public health messaging kept telling me to exercise but I didnu2019t have a safe way to re-start with chronic and complex health, joint and pain issues
After a month of trying Bed Pilates I now feel seen, safe, understood. More confident in knowing what my body can and canu2019t do safely. My mental health improved greatly from being part of such a supportive community of people with life-restricting health conditions.u00a0I have hope for the future.
Mobilates has helped me get up and down stairs with less pain; reduced MSK headaches; regain a sense of control and direction in life.
What makes Mobilates different is that classes are:
Mobilates is saving the NHS money by reducing my meds and appointments for physical and mental health AND my need for specialist autism services.
Mobilates creates a community for people who are isolated by their health conditions. It has strengthened my confidence and self-esteem which makes it easier for me to re-connect with my local community.
